Coach Michael Day is a proven leader with 28 years of teaching and coaching experience. Married 19 years and a father of 3, he knows first hand what is happening with the next generation. He is the RIGHT CONSERVATIVE at the RIGHT TIME to help all Georgians.
Michael Day is running for the 100th District in the Georgia General Assembly for the great State of Georgia. He is an unapologetic Christian, Husband, Father of 3, Eagle Scout, Teacher, and Football Coach for 28 years. Michael is a native of Stone Mountain, GA. He understands the Georgia values of Gwinnett, Forsyth, and Hall Counties having taught in all 3 counties at some point in his career, as well as being "teacher of the year runner up" twice in his career. At one point in his career Michael has taught every level of education K-12.
Michael grew up in a family of 5 children where he was raised in the church, and appreciates traditional family values that built this great state and country.
Michael attended The University of Mississippi where he played football for the Ole Miss Rebels. He is a product of public education, kindergarten through college. Public Education can be great again with your help.
Currently, Michael's children attend public schools at the Elementary and High Schools levels. Drawing from his own teaching experiences and being involved with his children's public education, Michael is proposing change at all levels. Additionally, Michael's wife, Kelly Day, is a Speech Language Pathologist who knows the important role Special Education plays in providing free and appropriate education for children with disabilities.
We have many serious issues facing our great State. Michael is not the kind of person to sit around and complain. He would rather get up and do something to fix it.
Coach Michael Day does not sound like a normal politician because he is not a politician. Nor is he a wealthy business owner that only cares about his interests and those of the lobbyists. Michael is a hard working North Georgian that deals with the same real life issues that you do. Isn't about time the Georgia General Assembly actually reflect the people?
1. School Choice in Georgia for EVERYONE, not just 25%.
2. Stop politicians who have never been in a classroom from making curriculum decisions.
3. STOP sanctuary cities that lead to tragedy
4. Protect the 2nd amendment
5. Protect life and the rights of the unborn.
6. Protect women's sports.
7. Fix GHSA transfer rules to protect teams and communities.
8. Support all first responders, hospital care givers, and all veterans.
9. NEVER allow Marta into Gwinnett, Forsyth and Hall counties
Michael is always open to discussing and expanding on any point of view and on any topic. Reach him at: michaelday100ga@gmail.com

Show Grace! Be Respectful!!
But, Always stand up for what you BELIEVE! -Michael Day
Education NOT indoctrination. Demand ACADEMIC standards to be taught, NOT ideology. Covid exposed exactly what is being taught in schools across Georgia. Get the teacher unions and culture warriors out of public school education, K-12. Curriculum must based on academic standards. These academic standards should NOT be developed and maintained by politicians, with their own agenda, but by teache
School choice for EVERYONE It is the civil rights issue of our time. I do support the new law that just passed but it only allows 25% of Georgia students access to school choice. The rubric used to define that 25% is severely flawed. It does not account for parents that do not want their children taught by their local public school's agenda and culture. Many parents across the state have been cu
We must stop sanctuary cities across Georgia that do not cooperate with federal authorities. Local authorities must not exploit loop holes in the current State and Federal law.
We are also a country of laws. The inhuman suffering that is happening to women and children at the border is unconscionable.
Protect Women Sports!! Title IX must be protected the way it was designed. Women's sports are under attack. Not just in college, but also in high schools. Lawmakers are taking away the right of young women to compete against their peers, of the same sex. Coach Day is proud to have two daughters, of his own, in sports, and will stop this unfair practice across the State of Georgia.
Protect the Right to life. Protect the Family Unit: The Supreme Court got it right with the Dobbs Decision. It is a states rights issue. Michael Day will support any and all State legislation that will strengthen the right to life. A child is a gift from God!
The traditional family is also under attack from all sides. We need leaders that are not scared or ashamed to stand up for the basic family
First Responders and Our Military Veterans are American HEROS. They run toward the danger, along with emergency room medical personnel, they save countless lives everyday across this great State. They should be celebrated and held to the greatest regard.
HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS ARE IN TROUBLE. The GHSA is asleep at the wheel and high school sports are spiraling out of control and unrecognizable. Student athletes are transferring 4 and 5 times throughout their high school years to play sports. Schools are actively recruiting players from other schools which diminish communities and teams. We are teaching kids not to work hard where they are, but in
Stop MARTA. Michael will go to the Capitol and fight to keep Marta out of Gwinnett, Forsyth, and Hall Counties. Make no mistake about it, Marta's master plan includes all these counties because of the locations like the Mall of Georgia, Lake Lanier, and new Gathering being built in Forsyth. Bus and train lines are in Marta's current plans for all 3 counties.
Protect the 2nd Amendment: The right of the people to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed upon. We must stand up to protect this right. Michael will NEVER vote for any legislative that infringes upon the 2nd Amendment. Every Georgian has the right protect their family any way they see fit.
Being a teacher and coach is extremely rewarding, but also demands hard work and dedication. Coach Day will take that work ethic to the state house for the 100th District of Georgia!
If you have children, or grandchildren, and you are worried about outside influences from ever direction it seems today that are leading them in the wrong direction, then Michael Day is the right person at the right time for the 100th district.
Michael is no different than anyone else in the 100th District. The cost of living expenses has impacted his family, just like all Georgians. He knows how much groceries and fuel have gone up with Biden inflation. On a teacher salary and making ends meet have become harder than ever as it has for so many Georgians.
"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government has grown out of too much government."
-Thomas Jefferson
Teachers and coaches work long hours and are the only professions that everyone thinks they can do it better than the person doing it. In both cases these professionals wake up every day with "the child they serve in mind", and how can I reach my students and players today?
"A school can not live a part from the community its serves".
